The Revolving Door Project serves as the digital headquarters for a vital non-profit organization focused on scrutinizing and reforming the executive branch’s personnel and decision-making processes in the United States. By shedding light on the revolving door phenomenon of government officials moving to powerful private-sector positions, potentially compromising public interest they are promoting government accountability and working to reduce the undue influence of corporate interests on public policy. 

The Brennan Center for Justice is a distinguished non-partisan think tank and advocacy organization dedicated to defending and advancing democracy and justice in the United States. CBPP is “a nonpartisan research and policy institute that advances federal and state policies to help build a nation where everyone has the resources they need to thrive and share in the nation’s prosperity.” Among its many contributions, the Center is an excellent source for info on how bills and budgeting in Congress stand to affect the average American.

State Mission: “Freedom House is founded on the core conviction that freedom flourishes in democratic nations where governments are accountable to their people.” Counting Eleanor Roosevelt as one its founding members in 1941, Freedom House is a global power in educating the public about threats to, and the achievements of democratic movements worldwide.

Open Secrets does an incredible job of tracking money in politics, through campaigns, industries, special interest groups, and current office holders.  Their data and analytics are a valuable tools in helping to make the American voter aware of money flow in our politics.  

Ballotpedia works “to inform people about politics by providing accurate and objective information about politics at all levels of government.” The site has a wealth of accurate voting information, as well as info on who is running for what office across the country. From detailed policy explanations to a variety of informative newsletters, this org is a one stop shop for current, no bull, nonpartisan political info.

POGO states that they “investigate corruption, injustice, and abuse of power in the federal government.” They also work to “promote commonsense reforms that strengthen our democracy and build a more equitable, accountable government.” The organization has been earning its reputation as an effective investigative machine since the early ‘80s.
